Though many people have attributed countless deaths to steroids, they are unable to fully prove steroids as the sole cause of death. Deaths from heart complications, kidney failure, strokes, and cancer have all been attributed to steroids; however, it is not certain that steroids alone and not familial genetics contributed to those problems. "Many professional wrestlers who have admitted to a long history of steroid use have died from heart complications that “can” be attributed to steroids. Yet, countless coroners and medical specialists are unable to officially attribute their deaths to steroids. They have only concluded that steroids may have played a role in their declining health conditions" (Swartz). The difficulty in resolving this dilemma is the problem of discovering the true source of fatal complications like an enlarged heart. Therefore, steroids are not officially the cause of any deaths; however, they are strongly suspected of playing a key role in numerous fatalities.
